The film follows Maria Bethânia to the Bahia’s Recôncavo basin, as she engages in familial and religious environments and takes part of celebrations in her hometown, Santo Amaro. It portrays the universe that inspired the lyrics and unveiling some influences that the Recôncavo had in Rio’s samba.
